Dinner at the Panda Palace | Letter Bb week + Product Review

I love this book! I purchased this book over the weekend for $1.50 at an antique store along with several others. I couldn't get over the reasonable prices there, I was so excited!

This book is a counting book from 1-10, about a panda bear who has to make room for several patrons at his restaurant. The children loved it! And so did I.

Before I show you our craft for today, I want to tell you about a product I was contacted to review. 

Craft Project Ideas contacted me to do a review on their Kids Crafts products that are available at 

Wal-Mart. It's from their Rainy Day Survival Kits.

Here are the products we are reviewing below...

The Ultimate Fuzzy Kit-Included 300 pieces, pom poms large and small, glitter poms, googly eyes, fuzzy sticks, glitter sticks,and wild animal fuzzy sticks.

Six pack of brightly colored washable finger paints.

Today we used the blue and red finger paint mixed together to make purple.

Googly eyes

Items from home used

Card stock cut in different sized circles

Panda Bear Craft

Here we gathered the supplies and placed in the center of the table. Notice the green fuzzy sticks, we didn't use. Didn't have enough room.

We used the clothes pins to clip the pom poms on and used as paint brush. 

They began by painting the panda's ears.

Good and messy fun!

Super cute! They added all their pieces, googly eyes, and drew a mouth after it dried.

Now what do I have to say about their products. Well I have used their craft supplies before and have always love them. They are reasonable priced, that's number one when searching for craft supplies like I do having a daycare. We go through supplies like crazy. They are good quality and I have never had a problem with them. 

The finger paints are washable as stated. They washed right off the children's hands at clean up time. The package they sent to us was a sample package. We use all of the red and blue containers. But I will keep those two containers, they will come in handy for something. I believe in recycling!

We're Going On A Bear Hunt | Letter Bb Week

I read the book 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt' by Michael Rosen and when I heard the children say "AGAIN, "AGAIN"! This is what I did, I showed them a video of the author telling the story which I knew they would love. I posted it below.

At first they looked at the video strange, then they started laughing, never taking their eyes off of him! LOL

After the video I asked them if they would like to go on a bear hunt, and they replied "YES!"

I made twenty of these teddy bears the night before out of cardstock, drew the faces, numbered, laminated. The next morning I went outside and hid them around the yard.

Not in very hard spots.

She found a few.




When we went back inside we played a matching the bear game with his family.

They would match the colors as we sang a tune.

Example: Brown Bear, Brown Brown where's your family? repeat

or Yellow Bear, Yellow Bear where's your family? repeat

Some kids would place their bear down with it's family right away. One child would do a dance, turn around and then place his bear down. This was really a fun, fun game!

Sensory/Discovery Bin

This week our bin is about bears!

The bin includes:

• one brown bear
• one coffee can wrap in leaves for a bear cave, lid used for pretend lake
• leaves in different colors
• different types and colors of rock
• acorns
• plastic tree
• moss rocks
• items for scooping
• ice trays
• leaf trays

          

I sat them down and explained to them everything that was in the bin before they got hold of it.

Because I knew they couldn't wait to dive in! 

 They took quickly to the ice trays, and that didn't get an explanation! They loved it!

 He quickly made a salad. Did I mention I believe he will grow up to become a chef? I've said that so many times!

 And of course you know you must try on the leaf tray to see if it will make a good hat!

They are having an awesome time!

Later we read the book 

Runny Honey by Jane Clarke

This book is about a honey loving bear who gets the stuff everywhere, which leaves to some unwelcome visitors!

So to go with the book we ate croissants with honey on them for our snack and talk about good!
