Painting Fall Leaves

                       

Today the children painted leaf die cuts, I made for them.

Supplies we used:

leaf die cuts

watercolor paint

brushes

tot trays

cup of water

Aren't they pretty?

I think we should make a garland out of them!

Homemade Watercolor Painting

This has been on our To-Do-List for awhile!

Pocketful of Posies shared this recipe on her blog and I knew we were going to make it! 

Recipe 

   3 tablespoons Baking Soda

3 tablespoons Cornstarch

3 tablespoons vinegar

1 1/2 teaspoons light corn syrup

Liquid food coloring

Styrofoam egg carton

spoon

measuring spoons 

Each child took a turn putting the ingredients in the bowl. 

 Adding the vinegar cause the mixture to fizzle and foam.

They were excited and amazed!

Next I stirred it all together and placed it in the cartoon.

 And then added food coloring.

 And mixed it with a spoon.

 They decided they couldn't wait to paint.

So we began right away.

 Here's some of their art they created.

A Rainbow

 A Fleur de Lis

 This child painted on his paper, held it up so the watercolors could run down the paper!

They really loved this!
