Letter Xx

We started off our letter Xx week by reading
alphabet mystery
by: Audrey Wood
Little x is missing from the alphabet, and the rest of the lowercase letters go on a search to solve the mystery of his disappearance.

After reading the book they began woking on their lapbooks.

They practice pre-writing/tracing the lower case x.
X-xylophone patterns found here.
Letter x cards, words that started with x or had an x in the word.
We went over each word together, and I asked them to circle the x in each word.

After they completed their lapbook we read
A Fox
by: Alice K. Flanagan
This book shows children how to use the sound of the letter x.

They also work on color by number xylophone. I found at Confessions of a Homeschooler.
Letters and sounds worksheet. Color the capital letter X red and the lowercase x blue. Then cut out and place where they belong,
They also made a Xylophone that will go into their ABC binders.
Do A Dot X sheet found at Childcareland.com

You can find here more books for the letter Xx that we read.
Thanks for stopping by!
