I ask them what do you know about Thanksgiving?
One replied "We eat turkey! And then the answers started flowing, Cake! Pie! People come to my house!
So I read them a book called Thanksgiving Mice. It's about mice that have a play telling the story of how the Pilgrims settled in America and meet the Indians and have the First Thanksgiving.
Now it was time to make our Thankful Turkey.
I found the craft here at Toddler Approved!
They began by decorating the turkey bodies with dot markers. Oh, how they love dot markers!
After the turkey's head, eyes, waddle, and beak were put in place,(sorry no pics of that), I asked each child one by one what they were thankful for? I would write the answers on the feathers and they will glue to their turkey to finish their craft.
The first answer I received - I Am Thankful For Birds That Fly!
I wanted to laugh! That was so cute and so funny at the same time! I smiled really big and wrote it on the feather. I love the things children come out with. I will show all turkeys that were made today. I love all their little answers, so sweet and innocent!
They said Ms.Lori is thankful that someone brought rice krispy treats for snack today! And yes I am ! :)
