Colorful Shamrock Hearts

I had plenty of the foam Conversation Hearts left over from Valentine's Day. Mostly with out any words written on them. This was a great use for them, to make colorful Shamrocks.
Here are our supplies:
Foam hearts with adhesive backs
Green markers
White card stock

I showed them how to make them, and then used the marker for the stem.

They did really well! However I did help the tot in the above photo, she enjoyed making several stems for the Shamrocks, one can never be too careful! :)
 Well done kiddos!

Thanks so much for stopping by and seeing what we were up to this week!

Dancing Leprechaun's

Today we made Dancing Leprechaun's! A lot went into the making of this craft, but when it was completed it was well worth it.
I found this craft here, you can find all the directions there. Above is the things I used and I have to improvised for our needs, which was fine.

Here are the finished Leprechaun's. Some are as big as the tots! :)
Happy St. Patrick's Day Everyone!

St. Patrick's Day Pot O' Gold Craft

Today we made a Pot O' Gold craft for St. Patrick's Day!

 Supplies Used:
White, gold and black card stock
dot markers in the colors of the rainbow
glue
hole punch

I cut the pot at 9 inches with my Cricut machine with the black card stock
I used a 1 inch hole punch for the gold coins

The children glued their black pots to the white card stock then added the gold coins.
Next they used the dot markers to create the rainbow any way they wished.
I think they turned out great! These will go into their binders.

Book of Shamrock Colors

I put together a book of shamrock colors for the kids. Each page had a small shamrock in each corner, each a different color with it's name written at the top.

I cut 5 inch Shamrock's out with card stock using my Slice machine. This was pretty easy for them to do.

This does help with re-enforcing colors, and fine motor skills. And I love making little books for them!

You can view the one we made last year here

St. Patrick's Day Paper Rainbow's

This morning we made paper Rainbow's, and boy did they light over this! Kids love rainbow's.

Supplies Used:

I cut a 6 1/2 inch cloud on my Cricut
Cut a 4 1/2 inch circle, added 2 hole punches
Cut 6- 1x11 inch rainbow strips
Also used white yarn to hang it up
Pencil

Yes, I made one too! :) Here we glued the circle with holes facing upward for yarn hanger.  I drew a line to mark where the glue should go, then the rainbow strips.

Here they are at work!

All done!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss | Part 2

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss

We love Thing 1 and Thing 2,
we hear they can be pretty bad,
we don't know why,
go ask your Dad!

Angel from Angel's Little Angel's also emailed me Thing 1 and Thing 2 to make paper bag puppets. If you read yesterday's post she emailed printable's for One fish two fish red fish blue fish, which the kids and I made a book. Now all of this was in color, but I ran out of blue and red ink! So I took a marker and colored all of them in!
Things happen. :)

For the body, I used my Cricut machine to cut this out, trying to replicate want they wore in the book.
Thanks again Angel!

And thanks for visiting today!

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss | Part 1

Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss
we've made a book in your honor!

In honor of celebrating Dr. Seuss' birthday this week each child made a book. Angels's Little Angel's Home Daycare had wonderful printable's via her Facebook page and graciously emailed me a copy of them. They really went all out this week!
We read the Dr. Suess book and then put our book together.
This is what she emailed to me, too cute!

And here is the front of their book.

I cut each fish bowl out and they had to glue on each page.
And follow the directions I wrote above from the book.

They had a good time making a book to take home and read! Thanks Angel!

Thanks so much for stopping by,

Foto Friday | In a Basket + An Announcement

#35
Welcome to Foto Friday I mean TGIF, right?!
I will start with the announcement. Foto Friday will be moving  to my new photography blog Photograph Life beginning next week! I have been thinking about this for a long time, weather or not to start yet another blog just for photography or not. I feel as though the photography link up's needed to separate from this daycare blog. I will not move Wordless Wednesday. I have already started posting over there, so hopefully everyone will pop over and visit and follow me there.

Now on with the featured photo for this week. Last week's theme was "Emotion". Loved the submissions, there were so many interpretations to go with this prompt.

Now look at these happy faces, don't you just love this? I think it's so super cute, and what a perfect image of these three. I love the post processing in this image. This was submitted by Tiaras & Tantrums
Thanks so much for sharing with us!

This week theme is "In a Basket"
I took this photo at the antique shop and thought it work great for this prompt. I used Kim Klassen texture Organic @ 28% opacity Normal. I also lighten a little and crop the photo.
