Painting With Squirrel Corn

This is a great way to let the children experiment with a different type of texture. I told them what we were going to do today and they weren't sure what I was talking about. I put the squirrel corn out on the table and let them touch it and get use to its texture before painting. Before long pieces of corn were everywhere. Well then it was time to paint.

I cut everyone's initial to their name on cardstock for them to paint on. They each decided what colors they wanted to use and got started right away. They began by rolling the corn in paint, then on their initial.
Messy Messy fun!

Here's how they turned out.

Quite cute I think.

And they thought the corn was beautiful too and wanted to take it home!

Very creative idea and both the initial and the corn will make great Fall decorations. :)
