Montessori Style Place Mats

This week I made the children Montessori Style Place Mats. I say style, because I didn't add where their cup belonged. Frankly I just didn't have enough room.

I used construction paper for the mat and cardstock for the plate and utensils which I cut those with my Cricut machine. Then I laminated. The laminater sheets are approximately 9 x 11.4 inches, so I had to cut the construction paper to fit. This is why I really didn't have enough room for the cup placement.
Then I stamped each child's name on their place mat.

I'm trying to teach them the proper way to set the table when we play restaurant or even sitting at the table they really can use this, it just wipes off clean. Well that didn't go over well with the tots. They just wanted to carry them around and play with them their way. I will try again another day. But on the upside the four year old understood and he likes it! And they are cute!

Oh, I really really LOVE this idea. I don't have a sewing machine, so this version is perfect for me :) I totally have to do this for the kids :)
